| When you disconnect a port, it goes into testing mode for a while.
If you look at the LEDs you would notice that the "forwarding"
led on that port is flashing, indicating "broken" state. After the
device senses that the port is back on-line (by sending periodic
loopback messages), it would move into the pre-forwarding state, then
into the forwarding state. Try waiting a couple of minutes after you
pull the loopback and check if MCC works then.

..and the problems still go on!
Let me explain our troubles with a customer in Austria.
The customer have a few DECbridges 620. All of the three
NI ports are used. One of them make troubles with many
Line errors (bad frame received, length errors, trans. error frames
and framing erros..)
But this should not be any problem for a bridge.
So what happend at the customer site is as follows:
The bridge suddenly stopped forwarding on one
port and went into test state (That is what
i suggest, because the Port Led was blinking slowly
and the bridge didn't forward anymore on that port)
This condition lasted aprrox. 12 hours and then
the bridge crashed and counted a unsolicited reset!!!!!
For a few weeks we have had installed the new SW v1.2
This have fixed some of our problems. Is this problem
above a new firmware problem or is it a hardware problem??
For engineers who can deal with a dump i attach the
diagnostic block from this bridge.
