700.0. "PBLMS WITH FILTERS ON LB6XX" by COL01::SCHUERHOLT () Fri Sep 11 1992 08:15

	Hello,

I've problems with the filters in the Decbridge 620.

The customer wants to set an address back to 'forward'
after he set it to 'filter' for any reason. So he does :

MCC> set bridge id forw datab multi entry <address> disp filter

			(that works fine)

MCC> set bridge id forw datab multi entry <address> disp forw

			(doesn't work at all)

The MCC> show bridge ... gives me, that this address is still
set to 'filtered'. To set the bridge into 'manual mode' doesn't
	help as well.

What is wrong with my procedure or sequence ? Any Help ???

The DECmcc Version is 1.2.0 ; the Firmware of the bridges is 1.2

By default multicasts are flooded, so all you need to do is remove
that multicast from the forwarding database and things will be back
    to normal.

Disposition 'forward' is an artifact of two-portedness. On
2-port bridges, this would tell the bridge to forward packets received
with this DA to the other side. In a multi-port bridge there's no
    'other side' as such.
