What is the right way to give (for free) or to sell (for how many $) the 2 MIB extensions that we need, to manage with SNMP, DECconcentrator 500 and DECbridge 500 or 600 ? * Draft IETF FDDI MIB, * DEC Vendor MIB extensions (DEC elanext MIB ) Thank you for your answers. Regards Bernard

re: .0 The current IETF FDDI MIB (RFC1285) is available electronically to anyone with access to the Internet. The DEC private MIB is available on-line for internal use, but I'm not sure how it is distributed to customers. - Larry | |||||

For both the draft fddi mib and the dec vendor extensions, you need to do the following (and yes it is openly available to all and free of charge): ftp to gatekeeper.dec.com, cd /private/mib, and get README. The mib filenames, as well as the info to figure out which mib version goes with which product firmware version, is all there. Note that RFC-1285 is not supported. It's being currently worked on for the next firmware version. When it does become implemented, the README file will be updated to reflect the fact. As an aside, the other two mibs that are needed to manage these products are MIB-II (RFC-1213, can be accessed at NIC.DDN.MIL, directory /rfc/rfc1213.txt), and the draft bridge mib which is available from gatekeeper (applicable only to bridges).
