632.0. "Performance modelling/simulation" by LARVAE::WILLIAMS_G () Thu Jul 02 1992 13:43

    Hi,

    I have a customer who is developing an FDDI networked solution. They
    currently have 8 DS5000 FDDI linked via concentrators. The final
    solution will have 28 DS5000 and some 170 PCs (hooked to FDDI via
    DECbridges).

    Is there anyone out there who can do some performance
    modelling/simulation work (given much more information than above) for
    me/my customer ? This is a very urgent request.

    They need to know what kind of network performance to expect under a
    number of circumstances and when I pose questions through the normal
    channels I get responses like - "Plug it altogether and try it out".
    This is not possible so I am looking for someone to do some simulation
    work - are there any tools available for this ?

    I can fund some time for this work to be done.

    Thanks,

    Gary. (GARY WILLIAMS @UCG DTN 782-1765)

632.1NETCW V3.0 does fddiPERE::BRUCEThu Aug 20 1992 16:346
    i know this is kind of late but i have been traveling and am just
    catching up. the new NETCW v3.0 models FDDI datalinks. somebody in your
    area should probably be trained on this. Don Lanoue does alot of these
    simulations for the U.S. area or you might want to talk to Russ
    Heinselman who is the technical manager for this the NETCW program...
    or copy it over and play with it yourself

    Can anyone give me the pointer to NETCW being referred in .1 ?

    Thanks,
