Hi,
Can someone confirm that a SUN workstation on an Ethernet segment, connected
via a DECbridge to an FDDI ring (formed with DECconcentrators) will be able to
boot from a SUN server connected elsewhere on the ring, or via another DECbridge.
Is there anything specific about the way a SUN boots that would prevent this?
Thanks... Bob

Bob,
There isn't anything special that is needed to boot a SUN workstation
from a SUN server over our FDDI equipment. We are currently doing this
at my customer today. We did however at the very beginning run into a
glitch because the SUN FDDI boards needed a switch enabled on them in
order for this to work. Also, check to see if the SUN FDDI controller cards
are up to date REV levels of firmware. (they put out a patch on
how they do SMT a while ago.)
Hope this helps, Mike Beaulieu
