617.0. "UCX, Mac setup guide?" by AUNTB::DAVISST () Mon Jun 22 1992 15:11
Customer sent me the following. Where do they look to see how to setup
to use the DEMFA for TCP, IP, UCX, and AppleTalk?
All pointers appreciated.
Subject: Support of TCP/IP/UCX and Appletalk/Pathworks for MAC via FD
Steve,
Please forward to me information on how to set-up the subject software and the
DECbridges to support TCP/IP/UCX and Appletalk/Pathworks for MAC protocols via
the FDDI adapters. The MFA-0 adapters are not standard options with the UCX and
Appletalk Management software.
Thanks,

617.1 | UCX V2.0 and later will support DEMFA | MSBCS::KALKUNTE | Ram Kalkunte 293-5139 | Tue Jun 23 1992 10:26 | 7 |
| UCX V2.0 will support the DEMFA device. V1.3a (which may be what your
customer uses) does not. UCX 2.0 is in FT3 testing at this time. You
may want to get in touch with Alex LADDIE::CONTA or Ben LADDIE::LEVIN
and find out if using FT3 is the right step for your customer.

617.2 | thanks | AUNTB::DAVISST | | Tue Jun 23 1992 11:51 | 7 |
| Thanks -- this is waht I suspected.
From DSIN, they have found a way to "trick" the Mac software. I also
assume that will be supported in a future release.
I do not believe that the customer will have a problem with a timing
issue for releases.
