I have an OEM who is interested in selling on our FDDI kit. The only problem they see is that their customers may not have/want ULTRIX or VMS. I know we can manage by SNMP now. What they ewant is the ability to upload new microcode from other platforms , DOS would be nice. Is this planned ? Thanks, Dave McCallum

Obviously if you can run MOP on DOS -- which you can; I believe DECnet/DOS supports it and even if not, it could be done by a separate application -- then you can in principle do firmware upgrade. If what you're after is for DEC to supply the necessary tools, that basically means you need NDU to run on that other platform. Best to talk to the NDU product manager. paul

Who is the product manager for NDU ? Will he be too interested in growing our market for FDDI hardware by providing the right support tools or is his main interest delveloping the software he is already shipping ? Thanks, Dave.
