| Yes, you're reading it. 8^) Since the GIGAswitch is initially limited
to FDDI ports, let's handle customer questions on it here in the FDDI
conference. Questions that can't be handled in this unrestricted
conference should be mailed to the product manager, school::robinson.
Some questions may be answered in the GIGAswitch PID. Contact your area's
PID captain for that.

| Hello,
is there anybody, who knows when the ATM Line Card and the Ethernet Line card
will be available? Are there plans to support a Token Ring Line card for
the Gigaswitch?
Does it make sense to use the gigaswitch as a concentrator? On the customer site
there are many LANs (Ethernet, Token Ring, FDDI) which can be connect with the
gigaswitch (if the Ethernet, TR, ATM-Card is available) to an ATM-Switch.
I see following benefits:
- High Speed LAN Connection between the LANs connected directly to the Gigaswich
(Ethernet-Ethernet, TR-TR, FDDI-FDDI)
- High Speed WAN Connection LAN <-> ATM <-> ATM <-> LAN
- Reduced cost,because not every LAN(or Workstation) must have an ATM-interface
