    Hi,
I am putting together a mdf for the bombay stock exchange. I went
through the notes conferences and found a mention of transition time in
case of failure depends on the configuration.

In my case, i have a 6640 in each site with around 4000 PC's
and 40 VAX 3100's connected on the network through 100/10 bridges.

    My doubts are:

    1. What would be the tranistion time in this case. There will be around
8 GB in each site with around 1 GB being shadowed.

    2. What would be the transition time in case i use a "tie breaker" VAX?
Waht kind of system would one recommend? Would a 3100 or a 4300 do?
Would this system be loaded to a great extent or would it slow down
       the main cluster?

    3. Is there any limit to the number of DEC bridges i put on the FDDI
ring to connect other systems , such as the PC's and VAX's?

    4. Would there be any network location where i can pull some DECwrite
compatible diagrams (.doc )of the diagrams of MDf sites? This is to
help me put together the bid.

    Thanks and regards,
