Well, Now that the DECconcentrator 500 supports SNMP sets, is it possible to enable/disable the phy ports using SNMP? I have look through the DEC_ELAN_VENDOR_MIB_V20 and FDDI_MIB_NOV_1990 pulled from gatekeeper.dec.com and have not been able to find a way to enable/disable the phy ports. Is a different mib required, or a newer version of the others required? Thanks, Steve Woestemeyer CSC/CS - Network Support Team

Yes. You can enable/disable the phy ports with SNMP. It's in the FDDI_MIB_NOV_1990 mib, snmpFddiPORTAction variable. Pam | |||||

It has been brought to my attention that our V3.1 release notes states that snmpFddiPORTAction is not settable. That is somewhat in error...We DO support setting to startPORT (5) and stopPORT(6). What IS NOT supported is setting to maintPORT (2), enablePORT (3), and disablePORT (4)...setting these will result in a badValue error. So, to disable a port using snmpFddiPORTAction, set that port to a value of 6. To enable the port set it to a value of 5. Pam |
