510.0. "FDDI 700 Questions" by ODIXIE::KILMAN (Howard Kilman DTN 353-6273) Thu Mar 19 1992 21:23

Can someone help me w/ these RFI questions.

    1) If a local MIB image is maintained on the FDDI 700, provide an
    estimate of the memory usage.

    2) Mgmt of FDDI 700 via SNMP, w/ RFC 1155 and 1212

    3) Status and Control over config attributes via SMT Rev 6.2 May 18,
    1990

    4) Status and Control over fault attributes via same SMT as above

    5) Status and Control over performance attributes via SMT ....

    6) A periodic trap that reports user selectable SMT data and whose
    inteval is a SMI/CMD defined object. A get_request, get_next_request,
and set_request against this object must be implemented.

    7) get_request, set_request, and get_next_request must be implemented
    for all SMT defined attributes

    8) encoded FDDI MIB defns for all objects implemented

    9) support for SNMP access policies

    10) support for group and braodcast capabilities of management agent

    11) Do we have a command line utility to manage the card

I know this is long, but if one or more of you can help me out, I would
    appreciate it.

    thanks,
    Howard Kilman

Can someone help me w/ these RFI questions.

    1) If a local MIB image is maintained on the FDDI 700, provide an
    estimate of the memory usage.

The firmware maintains attributes in support of the latest FDDI_MIB on-board,
there is no memory usage in terms of host memory. Do you want adapter memory
usage?

    2) Mgmt of FDDI 700 via SNMP, w/ RFC 1155 and 1212

The 700 maintains the information, that doesn't mean there is an agent to
access it.

    3) Status and Control over config attributes via SMT Rev 6.2 May 18,
    1990

See above.

    4) Status and Control over fault attributes via same SMT as above

ditto.

    5) Status and Control over performance attributes via SMT ....

ditto.

Again, all this would be in the agent.

    11) Do we have a command line utility to manage the card

Yes, it's ccalled netstat but is not an snmp agent.

I know this is long, but if one or more of you can help me out, I would
    appreciate it.

    thanks,
    Howard Kilman
