Hello,
I've installed DEFCN V3.1 on a DECconcentrator 500, and I want to
manage it via DECmcc/VMS V1.1 + ELM AM (BRIDGE_AM V1.2.0, CONC_AM
V1.0.0).
With the previous DEFCN V3.0B, no problem occurred.
BUT, with the new version DEFCN V3.1, I get some MCC error messages
with the following commands :

NOTA : via the ICONIC MAP, the SHOW STATUS directive on a CONCENTRATOR
global entity returns back a window error message :

| Hi,
The reason you're seeing the "no corresponding entity" message is be-
cause the v3.1 firmware supports Optical Bypass and Out of Band Management (UART
connection). I know the concentrator AM people were informed of these new
entities so I imagine that a newer version of their AM will know about the two
new FRU's.

And thank you for your reply !
Does your answer mean that there will be a new version of ELM AM ? For
which platform (DECmcc/VMS V1.1, DECmcc/VMS V1.2 or DECmcc/ULTRIX V1.2) ?
So does it also mean that my current version of ELM AM can manage only
DECconcentrator 500 V3.0B ?

| The DECmcc ELM V1.1 does not support the new types of FRU (Optical
Bypass and UART board). However, the DECmcc ELM T1.2 (Field Test
version) does support this new FRU types. You can still manage the
all the DEFCNs with the DECmcc ELM V1.1. The error message means that
it does not recognize the new FRU types. It does not effect to any
other management operation. If you want to install the DECmcc T1.2,
refer to the MCC note conference. The DECmcc BMS T1.2 (Field Test kit)
is required in order to use the DECmcc ELM T1.2 kit. We released it
on both VMS and ULTRIX platform.
