Hi, I talked about FDDI during a presentation. My customer asked me how we were going to handle our products when the IEEE standard for FDDI emerged. They infered that the ANSI standard was just an interim "fix" for someone needing to do FDDI and that the IEEE standard would supersede it. Does anyone have any info on the IEEE standard and how the ANSI standard vs. the IEEE standard will be? Thanks, Pat

Nonsense. There is no IEEE standard for FDDI and there will not be. FDDI is done by ANSI and IEEE doesn't touch any of it. However, there IS an ISO standard for FDDI. That one is identical to the ANSI standard; for a number of the parts of the standard, the same camera-ready pages were used for both! paul |
