I am going to install the FDDI controller 700 on a DECstation 5100/120CX
running ULTRIX 4.2 and I am told to rebuild the ULTRIX kernal to include
the FDDI driver.
Any pointer to the documentation on how to rebuild the kernal and how
to modify the files such as /etc/rc.local?
Thanks and regards,
Charles.

Add a line to your config file in /sys/conf/mips
device fza0 at ibus? vector fzaintr
Then run 'doconfig -c SYSNAME' (where SYSNAME is your system name
in all caps minus any domain).
The device name is fza0
