353.0. "Interop '91" by OSAV20::IZUTANI (Kenji Izutani,Tech.Consul.,CSEC,DEC-Japan) Thu Sep 26 1991 01:54

<< cross posted both in FDDI and DNT notes >>

Could anyone tell me what will be showed at coming Interop '91 exhibition?

Our Japanese (but international) FDDI prospect will visit the show and want
to see our booth. His concern seems to be FDDI dual-homing, network
management etc.

Thanks in advance and regards,
kenji

We will have a very large FDDI area in our booth at Interop with
multiple demos. One set of demos will be run in conjunction with the
FDDI Showcase Solution interoperability group, which has 44 vendors
participating this year. We will have a DECstation 5000 and a VAX6xxx
running TCP/IP Services for VMS on that FDDI ring showing applications
being shared between the vendors and our 6xxx system being used as an
    NFS server by other vendors.

We will also have the bricks demo (2 stations) and a new
videoconferencing demo (3 stations). Network management of FDDI can be
seen in the network management booth via DECmcc and MSU. We are not
announcing any new FDDI products at this show.

You should also know about the educational panels on FDDI that are
being sponsored by the FDDI Showcase demo group. There are two customer
panels (featuring three of our customers, Wednesday at 2 and Thursday
at 12) and two vendor panels (we're on one of these too, Thursday at 4
and Friday at 4) in the Interop Presentation Theatre, Room C-4. Those
should be of interest to your customer, too.

Looking forward to seeing you at Interop.
