A question regarding the NTP table in the bridges. When I add protocols to the table I can add 5 different protocols and then trying to add a 6th gives the error "requested NTP protocol already present in device". My question is simply, is 5 the limit (and this is just a misleading message) or does adding a 6th protocol somehow set the NTP into 'all protocols' mode so it treats every frame in the 'ntp' way. Steve BTW I'm only doing this whilst 'playing' with the management software and don't really want lots of protocols in the table

Unfortunately when this version of DEFEB firmware was released there was no error code in RBMS indicating that a table is full. A new error code (157) was later added to the RBMS spec to denote a table full and this code has been incorporated in the latest version (3.0) of the DEFEB firmware. I presume you are running the field test version of the firmware. Even with the latest firmware version the host displays Error # 157 and says that it is Reserved. The ELMS host code has not been updated to reflect this new error code. Hope this helps Krishna |
