Is the configuration below correct as to using FDDI STP from an SER to the desk top? 100M maximum ____________________________________________________ | | V V ------- Type 6 | Type 1 or 2 | Type 6 ------ ! !]---------[|]-------------------------[|]----------[! ! ! ! | | ! ! ! ! SER patch wallplate !------! !-------! panel DECstation DECconcentrator ] == DB 9 connectors This would mean 4 DB 9 connectors from the concentrator to the controller in the 100M span. Thanks in advance. dmm

Yes. However, the intermediate connections ([|]) would typically use the IBM Token Ring connector, rather than a DB9. This hybrid cable will be part of the product announcement.

Typically use the IBM connector but sometimes not?? Will we support both or just one? I was wondering, as I understand it now we may be seeing DB9 but what do I know. 8^) Could someone send mail on the product announcement and connector specifics? Thanks. dmm
