FC/PC was identified as the preferred connector in singlemode
installations. That is why it was chosen.

No. However, they are available from Anixter. The part numbers are
listed in an appendix of the DEFCN Singlemode Option Card Installation
guide.

MIC = Media Interface Connector. It is the fixed-shroud duplex
connector specified by the multimode PMD standard.

| Does this mean that on the SMF Module in the DECconcentrator 500 has
FC-PC connectors and the MIC connector is not used.
Does any one have a part number for the FC-PC to FC-PC Patch Cord?
What if the customer terminated the SMF with ST connectors?
Will this increase the budget?
Does Digital stock a part with ST to FC-PC connectors?
Enuff questions,
Dave

For the SMF connections, yes. (The Port Module has two SMF connections
and two MMF connections. The MIC is used for the MMF connections.)
FC/PC is also used in the SMF variants of DECbridge 500/600 Series.
>Does any one have a part number for the FC-PC to FC-PC Patch Cord?
Anixter p/n for 3m length (duplex) is FCFC3.
>What if the customer terminated the SMF with ST connectors?
>Will this increase the budget?
No. Connector losses for both types are similar.
>Does Digital stock a part with ST to FC-PC connectors?
No. Anixter p/n for 3m length (duplex) is FCST3.
