222.0. "VAX w. FDDI & Ethernet any problems ?" by HERON::DAHL () Wed Mar 06 1991 10:19

	Would this configuration need some special care for the different
	protocols (DECnet Ph IV, DECnet/OSI Ph V, SCS, LAT, TCP/IP)?

	1) Will some of these protocols result in the bridge getting packets
	with the same MAC address from both FDDI and Ethernet/802.3 (I don't
	think so, but need to check) ? If so, any recommended filtering
	for the bridge ?

	2) I guess DECnet PH IV only accept one (FDDI preferably)
	LAN device to be active. The Ethernet/802.3 adapter would be
	put in a standby mode. Right ?

	3) How will DECnet/OSI PH V handle this ? Will we need any special
	conciderations in terms of Bridge filtering to make this work OK ?

	4) I guess that the Ethernet/802.3 adapter could be used for LAT
	only traffic, or is the best way to run all protocols through the
	FDDI interface, and then let the different protocols failover to
	the Ethernet/802.3 adapter if they can ? Any suggestions ?
