Hallo I'm not sure about the standard compliance of our translation technique for bridging. I know that two RFCs discripe this technique. I heard that the ANSI FDDI group is not interested in this question. Is this right? Will IEEE802.2 discuss this topic? Thanks Wiltrud

RFC 1042 and 1188 (successor to 1103) describe it, or at least the framework. I wouldn't say that ANSI "is not interested in this question"; we have presented the topic several times. ANSI is not the place where it is standardized, though. It has also been presented at IEEE 802.1, and it appears that it will appear in an appendix of one of the 802.1 documents. paul |
