Hello,
I am looking for names of "DEC supported" vendors of FDDI cards for
PC's. I have a customer who wishes to interconnect several Ethernets
using FDDI concentrators and Bridges. Each Ethernet will have multiple
DECstation PC's running Novell Netware, and the Novell file servers will be
located on the FDDI ring.
What type of FDDI card should I put into the DECstations (386 servers)
that connect directly to the FDDI ring ?
Has Digital tested any specific vendor's FDDI cards ? Which brands
should I avoid ? Thanks for any help.

Have you asked the customer WHY he wants to put such slow devices on
such a high-speed/high-cost LAN? Is there some reason the servers can't
be placed on the Ethernets along with the clients? As far as I know, we
haven't tested ANY PC cards on our FDDI products. I think I've only
heard of one vendor who even makes them, but I can't remember who it is
off the top of my head.
