I've heared a "rumor" in a class Iam taking about networking that there are problems in connecting multi-vendors FDDI interfaces to the same FDDI newtork.. is there any truth to this ? thank you /Nasser

That's far too vague for a specific answer. In general, it DOES work. FDDI is new, so there certainly are bugs in various implementations that cause problems. But your expectation should be that you can build multi-vendor FDDI networks and it will work. paul | |||||

Ok, I heared that different Vendors FDDI interfaces have problems Talking to each Other's..as oppsoed to FDDI interface Boards that are mode by the same Vendor. Iam Taking a class at Boston Univ (Local area Network, Design and Implementation CSE635), and we have students from different commpanies in the calss, and someone claimed the above... Iam not sure what specific Vendors FDDI interface that he claimed having problems talking to each others.. thanks /naser | |||||
