150.0. "DB500, LB1xx and fail over" by CGOS01::DMARLOWE (PDP 11: MOV -(PC),-(PC)) Fri Oct 05 1990 13:15

I assume this will work. The only issue that I can think of is to put the
LB1xx in standby mode so all traffic goes over the DECbridge. I take it the
LB1xx will come up automatically when one of the DECbridges fail.

    Yes, the configuration in .0 will work. The LB1xx can be put in BACKUP
    by setting line costs appropriately. Note that for a two DB500
    configuration, a DEFCN is not required. (of course, the DB500's aren't
    required either! just replace them with an LB200)

    This customer has also refused to buy DECserver 500's because if
    one fails then a lot of users are dead whereas if a DECserver 200
    fails....

    I left out all the other stuff that could go onto the WC.

    Thanks.
