122.0. "FDDI and TCP/IP" by VBV03::BYRUM () Fri Aug 24 1990 10:24

It is my current understanding that TCP/IP running over FDDI has
problems. My understanding is that it is with the network type
field in the header. Can anyone confirm this?

    	See note 113; there are currently problems with Sun's
    implementation of ARP, they adhered to rfc1103, which is being
    updated. The work-around is to put manual entries in the arp tables.
    Note: the sun nodes can arp just fine between two nodes both on the
    FDDI; the problem arises only when arping across a transparent
    FDDI-Ethernet bridge, such as DEC's DECbridge 500.
