We have received an invitation to tender asking us, between other things, to state our position in relation to the proposed HIPPI standard for 800 Mbit/s networks. Does anybody know this standard or can give me any useful pointer in order to gather information on it? Specifically, are we involved anyhow on activities on high speed LANs (beyond FDDI 100Mb) for supercomputers and high performance graphic workstations? Any help will be very appreciated Alberto P.S. Hallo Alberto, HPPI stands for High Performance Parallel Interface 800Mbit/s or 1,6 Gbit/s channel. We will build an adapter for this point to point high speed network. You can find further information in the notesconference LDP::supercomputing (note 165) or BTOVT::vax_9000 Wiltrud |
