I am requesting any information or contacts to help me respond to a
U.S. Army, RFP. The RFP reads in part as follows;
"An FDDI router/gateway with four (4) separate IEEE 802.3 ETHERNET
interfaces (and transceiver cable ports) shall be supplied at each of
nine locations. The supplied routers shall be equiped with an optical
bypass mechanism which maintains integrity of the FDDI rings in case of
router maintenance/failure., and
The router/gateway shall be attached to both FDDI rings, shall operate
at full FDDI bandwidth (100Mb/sec) and shall permit full, continued
100 Mb/sec network operation between Rings #1 and #2. The contractor
shall not provide ETHERNET interfaces for this router/gateway unit if
it is a physically separate, independent unit from the router/gateway
specified in 3.8.3.1 for room 1074."
Any information that helps me respond to the specification willy
accepted.
