75.0. "3rd Party 802.5-FDDI Bridge ?" by LFOIS1::LIEBAERT () Wed Jun 13 1990 17:11

A customer intends to set up an FDDI Nwk. to support new imaging
    applications.
There already are some Ethernet LANs on the site, some Token-ring
are setting up to replace traditional SDLC lines.
    The problem is to:

1 use FDDI to link imaging stations (DS5000 when
       the board is available)

2 link 802.3 LANs in an E-lan over FDDI

3 Link 802.5 LANs in another E-Lan over FDDI too

At this stage 802.3 attached stations need not yet to talk to 802.5
    attached ones.
With our set of products I can see how to solve 1 and 2, but not
    3.

IT seems that Fibronics also provides a set of products, including
    an 802.5-FDDI bridge.
Though proprietary, this solution has the advantage to solve the
    customer's problem.

Does some 3rd party manufacture 802.5-FDDI bridges that would
    complement ours and interoperate ?

    Thanks
