Subj: DCU Bylaw Change - please post
DCU Member Notice
-----------------
At the next DCU Board of Directors meeting (February 26th 1996)
it is our intention to move a motion to change one of the DCU
bylaws. This bylaw change will increase the number of words
allowed in candidate election statements from 300 words to 800
words. We feel this will enable candidates to more clearly
communicate their positions to the membership.
This memo is for the purpose of notifying the membership of this
impending bylaw change. If this motion is approved at the next
board meeting, we will submit the change for NCUA approval with the
intent of the change becoming effective in time for this year's
Board of Directors Election.
The specific change is as follows. Change DCU Bylaws
Article VI Elections, Section 8 (c) (6)
from:
6) A position statement book which contains each candidates'
position statement (or biographical data). The statements
shall appear in the same order as the order of the candidates'
names on the ballot. Each statement shall be three hundred
(300) words or less and shall be printed as submitted, unless
it contains defamatory material or confidential credit union
information. The same typographical format shall be offered
to all candidates at the time statements are requested so that
each candidate can utilize similar typographical features,
such as punctuation, accentuation and bolding.
