882.0. "just a little curious" by PCBUOA::SWANEY (Escape is never the safest path) Fri Sep 30 1994 15:49

I purchased a car using a DCU AUTO loan this summer.
The new title arrived at my home a few weeks later
which I thought odd since the bank usually keeps it
I thought. Well a couple of days later the bank sent a
letter saying that they hadn't recieved the title yet and if
I get it please stop by a DCU and drop it off. So I did.
a week or so later they send me another letter and tell me
to send the registry $25 and have their name put on the title
    also?

is this standard procedure? isn't the fact they have the title enough?
if not why should I pay the $25 ? if they want the title changed
    shouldn't they foot the bill?

also they've sent 2 letters already requesting I do this and I still
    haven't? what can they do?

    thanks
    Bill

Sounds like the dealer screwed up the documentation. They should have
listed DCU as a lienholder on the title application, which would put the
title in DCU's name and get it sent to them.

You probably paid the dealer to get this documentation done. Tell the
    dealer to do it right.

    BTW...

If this was one of those special "pre-approved" loan deals between DCU
and the car dealer, tell them to settle it among themselves.

Bernardi's screwed up. They should eat the cost to make it right.

This happened to me with 128 Mazda. I called them up, spoke to the
document prep person, sent her back the title by registered mail, and received
confirmation a few days later that a corrected title had been applied for
at the resistry. If your sales agreement identified the lienholder, and the
checks as well, then there should be no argument - the dealer screwed up.

I recently purchased a car from a dealer. The paperwork was filled out
correctly. The problem was the Registry. They screwed up.

And what if you simply do nothing? What can/will the DCU do?
(Assuming you continue to make all your payments on time...)

Call the loan actually. It's effectively unsecured at this point.

OK. So then you rewrite the loan and get the title issues
    	corrected at that time.
