They had some pretty strong charges of vote rigging in South Africa, directed against each other by the ANC and Inkatha. They also had an independent election commission. I suppose the IEC could have said "there are numerous complaints, so we're invalidating the election". Instead, they actually looked at the charges and then ruled that the election was substantially free and fair, and could stand. I suppose the substantially losing side might still sue, but more likely they'll focus their energies on doing better in the next election. Now, about the DCU... ah, never mind. Larry Seiler | |||||
