An interesting article appeared in the newspaper recently (NH Union Leader).
'D'Amours Now Works Other Side of Credit Union Coin'
The article mentions how D'Amours, an attorney and once lobbyist for
credit unions, now is the CEO of the NCUA.
Norm regulates 12,300 CU's throughout the country...
Nearly 300,000 people are members of NH's 38 CU's.
Quotes from article:
"I made it a policy of mine that we stress lending much more than we
have," he said, quickly adding that the non-profit, member owned credit
unions historically have stressed lending more than have banks.
To focus exclusively on low-income lending, he created an Office of
Community Development Lending.

NH has about 1,000,000 people. If 300,000 are CU members, that means a
third of NH residents are CU members...
I wonder who they NH CU's think their competition is?
