I've conversed with some former employees but current DCU members about
all this :-). I've got my fingers crossed.

Dave it's real nice of you to do that. It could have been a real
confidence breaker for them if they had went home after the election
with a Goose egg their names.

Voting for other members, essentially stuffing the ballot box, is doing
the right thing?

Get off it. This was simply a case of a colleague who perhaps had
not closely followed the election and trusted Glenn to make a
recommendation. People do that all the time.

Oh, you crack me up! What a silly question! The person knows I read the DEFCU
conference and asked me who to vote for. I told her. I even made the X marks and
mailed her ballot for her.
"Stuffing the ballot box". You're pretty damn paranoid, aren't you?

Well, it's less than the optimal "informed decision".
On the other hand, a good number of people who vote on anything do just
about the same thing when they base their decision on sound bites or
who's got the brightest posters at the polls.

Dam right..! 3Gs*2
I filled my husband's ballot, handed him a pen and the ballot when he
got home, pointed to the dotted line and asked him to sign..did he fill
his badge number?? No..I filled the badge number for him.
He did ask who he voted for after he signed..!
Do I care what Mr. Whatshisname thinks..No!
oh..yes..My husband knows who the candidates he voted for and approves.
He was working for DEC until he resigned about a month ago..so I knew
that he would have voted the same way..
Why did I fill it for him..because he would have never have gotten
around to it until after the elections..

You know, it's kind of ironic. Lisa and Paul voted to "dis-member" over
60% of the membership via this relationship thing, yet they ask for our vote.
Is this arrogance or what?
Bob, who's a relationship member quite by chance

797.30 | Make the DCU management work for their pay. | BSS::RONEY | Charles Roney | Wed Mar 30 1994 11:49 | 46 |
| Well, I just got'm (2) and mailed them out for the 3g's (2x).
The final thing that pushed me over the edge, and got me more than
a little upset was the write-up from the one petition person. The
one concept that set me off was the "team" concept. I just got sick
when I thought of the last BOD and what happened there. There is a
term called "group think" (if I remember correctly) that almost lost
this country. When JFK took office, he inherited the "Bay of Pigs"
situation, and his *team* was filled with "yes" men and other lame
brains. It was a disaster. When the Cuban Missile Crises came up,
JFK brought in people with opposing views that would allow he and his
cabinet to look at all sides and all angles. This worked very well
and we came out much better than the previous situation.
From what I have seen and read, "group think" is a most desirous
attribute from the perspective of the majority of the current (and
last) BOD. And, it seems from the upper DCU management, especially
from Mr. CC. Good or bad, right or wrong, agree or disagree, I am
most especially grateful to Mr. Gransewicz for non-adherence to the
"group think" concept.
Making some assumptions from what I have seen and read, I would say
that this "petition" person was elected from the elite (as a *team*
player) to replace Mr. Gransewicz on the BOD. I also have to assume
that this "special committee", for the election/re-election of these
"team" players to the BOD, is chaired by none other than Mr. CC
himself. I would not be surprised if the DEFCU was changed to CCFCU
at some later point in time with a BOD consisting totally of "group
think" people. (Remember that this is all speculative based upon the
actions of people from the DCU and from the last election to now.)
Instead of accepting whatever the DCU management suggests, e.g. the
"relationship banking" concept, why does not the BOD have the DCU
management come up with a list of problems accompanied by a list of
suggested solutions to those problems? This current situation is here
(IMHO) because the BOD agreed with the FIRST thing they heard from DCU
management. Can not the BOD push back? If there is a problem with
the way the membership is using the DCU, then explore the reasons and
situations before coming up with some silly ass, demeaning concept
like the current "relationship banking" solution. If the DCU is truly
a cooperative, then get problem resolution suggestions from the members.
I mean, they are the ones really using it.
Well, I guess I have rambled on long enough, but I just wanted to get
this off my chest as it has been stewing for a long time.

Well, if we followed the conventional wisdom that diversity is next to
godliness on a Board, my ticket of choice would be
o Phil G, for the experience and the right view
o Lois H, for the inexperience and the wrong view
o Keith M (write-in), for the counterpoint and the implied view
However, good sense got the best of me.
G*2 for sure, plus G*4 probably (interested coworkers and neighbors)

Today for the first-time I looked into this notes-file due to mail from

surrounding this and very glad that I chose the 3G's.
