757.0. "30 days to Ballot mailing" by TPSYS::FERREIRA () Wed Feb 16 1994 19:02

Only 30 days before the ballots are sent out (17-MAR) for the next election.

I have been a DCU member since it's inception and with this recent attempt
of the DCU to try and quack like a bank, I have decided to stay a member,
not vote with my feet, but use MY vote to make it MY credit union.

I will be checking my mail, after 17-MAR, to make sure that I receive a
ballot. Last time I had to call DCU HQ to get one sent.

Question; Can I send my ballot in via US mail, or do I have to drop it off
in person? At the meeting? At any DCU?

There are 3 candidates that I am interested in (wonder who they are...). Do
I get 1 vote?

You send your ballot in by US mail. I believe it may even have a
    postage paid envelope.

PS We've been asked to have mug shots in the ballots. Guess everybody
will get to know what I look like now.

I'll vote for you anyway, Dave.

Ballots are returned via US mail (and any outside mail for members
outside the US). A business reply envelope is, if I recall, supplied
for this purpose. The ballot goes to an independent firm who tallies
    the votes for the DCU.

A member gets one ballot per share account. My wife, mother in law,
and I each have a share account so three ballots come to my house but
only one of them is strictly speaking mine. On the ballot you will be
able to vote for up to 3 candidates. That's one vote for each of the
three open positions. It looks like there will be 6 names to choose
from. The 6th name is a petition candidate BTW and since they did not
go through the nominating committee process I don't know who it it.
(Though I have an idea I'd rather not say until it's official.) Put
your little Xs by no more then 3 names or you'll invalidate the ballot.

757.4When are the ballots due back to DCU?TOHOPE::REESE_KThree Fries Short of a Happy MealThu Mar 24 1994 21:186
Has anyone received their ballots in the mail yet? I realize it's
only been a week but as I remember we weren't given a long period
of time to mail back our ballots last time.

I believe the return address was in MA so it could take a few days.

    Received mine in yesterday's mail.

I live near LKG, and well within the range in which the USPS promises
next-day delivery (of first-class mail, but these were reportedly sent
    third-class).
