The DCU Supervisory Committee (SUPCOM) currently has an opening. The
DCU Board will be appointing a replacement committee member at its meeting
on May 25. The process to fill this voluntary position is as follows:

	1. Anyone that is interested in "applying" for the opening should
forward a letter stating why they wish to volunteer and how
they can contribute to the committee. A resume is optional.

DUE DATE: End of the business, May 17
	    VIA:
E-Mail to Phil Gransewicz at ASE003::GRANSEWICZ
OR to Jim Regan at DCU HQ

	2. We will send each applicant a list of SUPCOM responsibilities
and expected time commitments. After reading that
material, if the applicant decides not to continue in
the process they can contact me directly at 508-841-6595
		    (dtn 237-6595) or by E-mail LEDS::ROSS and I will
		    withdraw their name.

The applicant's INFO will be forwarded to the board with the
the rest of the board package on May 18.

	3. At the board meeting on MAY 25th, the board will vote on the
	    applicants.

I posted it in DIGITAL but the moderators deleted because they believe
it is billboarding. I've been trying to convince them otherwise with
    no success.

I also posted it in CLASSIFIED_ADS since it has a wide readership also
and also has an event note.

How about Livewire, local branches, Network?

re: .5

Network would be a waste of space since it won't be published until long after
the deadline.

This may be your opinion but this type of posting was *never* even done
before. I would venture a guess that the DIGITAL conference is read by
thousands of people. Obviously we're not going to get it perfect the
first time. I don't have the ability to post anything in branches or
Network as an individual director. I also haven't been very successful
in the past with Livewire so I don't even think about it anymore. Had
you pointed out these alternatives in your earlier reply, I most
certainly would have retried Livewire at least.

I will attempt to establish regular communication with Livewire for
future notices. Branches and Network are DCU management areas and that
would need the entire Board to vote to use them for this purpose.
