594.0. "When is the BoD noting as the BoD???" by SCAACT::AINSLEY (Less than 150 kts is TOO slow) Thu Aug 06 1992 10:59
Some of our more verbal BoD members seem to be stumbling over
themselves to try and make it clear when they are speaking as members
and when they are speaking in their "BoD" capacity.
I order to make life easier for them, I'd like to propose that they
adopt the 'moderator' rule, which says a moderator is noting as an
ordinary member of the conference unless they explicitly say they are
acting in a moderator capacity.
So, I propose that the members of the BoD agree that unless they
explicitly state they are noting in their official BoD capacity, they
are participating as ordinary DCU members.
I would suggest that the mods post a reply, in one of the rules and
regs notes, from the BoD members who have agreed to this convention.
This would seem to make life a whole lot easier for everyone involved.

You mean *ME*? :-)
That's pretty much what I've been doing tho I haven't remembered to state it
on most of my postings. I think stating it as you have is a good idea.
I wholeheartedly agree with your proposal.
