583.0. "Credit Unions - Origins and History" by MACNAS::KELLY (Mike Kelly 784-2477) Wed Jul 08 1992 17:41

    I'm doing some preliminary research on the origins and history of the
    Credit Union movement worldwide. Can anyone provide any useful
    references for further information?

    Mike.

Actually, I think DCU may have some stuff. It was in the package of info
they gave me. You might give them a call and see if they'd be willing to
send you some stuff. Also, you could ask for the names of the various
credit union societies and write to them. If you don't get the info from
DCU let me know and I'll look thru what I have at home.

RE: .1

Be prepared to open your wallet - WIDE. Until the IPP is rescinded
at least!

    I would start at the public library. I'm sure there are many books on
    the topic.

I think the IPP was changed last spring to be more reasonable. If you do
have a problem with getting that info from DCU let me know and I'll look for
it in my stack. And I won't even charge you anything! :-)
