As many of the notes in this conference deal with the topic of communication I
thought people may find the following announcement (dates Mar 25, 1992) in
LIVEWIRE interesting.

Worldwide News LIVE WIRE

                      Digital appoints Charles Holleran as
                   vice president of Corporate Communications

Charles Holleran has accepted the position of vice president, Corporate
Communications, reporting to Bill (B.J.) Johnson, vice president, Corporate
  Marketing.

He will join Digital in mid-April. He had served as vice president of
Public Affairs for Travelers Corporation. He will be responsible for
internal and external communications including: public relations, marketing
communications, advertising, corporate identity, analyst and consultant
relations and employee communication, which also reports to Corporate
Employee Relations. He will also be closely linked with investor and
  government relations.

"Communication is one of the critical areas Digital relies on to help our
internal and external audiences understand our leadership in business
solutions, products and services. Charlie will be instrumental in bringing
focus to our communication process. This will allow our people to be able to
relate their work to Digital's business strategies and our markets and
business alliances to know our full capabilities," B.J. said.

Prior to his work with Travelers, Charlie spent 20 years with IBM in a broad
variety of assignments including Group Director of Communications for the
Marketing and Service Group. In that assignment, he successfully organized a
unified communication function from many diverse departments.

He joined Travelers Corporation in early 1989 where he enhanced the company's
image internally and externally. His responsibilities included all key
internal and external publications, employee, agent and financial
  communications, media and public relations.

A native of Scranton, Pa., Charlie has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the
University of Scranton. He and his wife Mary Jane have three children and
will relocate to the Maynard area from their present home in Avon, Conn.
