Interesting that DCU can use Digital resources (LiveWire) to post these
meetings. Wonder if they'll do the same to let DCU members know about
the special meeting details?

FWIW, MetPay also uses Livewire to disseminate information. Both are
under the GMA Employee Services menu.

Guess they are considered "benefits". Wonder if the Special Meeting
Petition Drive could be considered an employee activity and could also
use formal means of disseminating information to DCU members (LiveWire).

Gee, I wonder why they didn't choose to publicize the "informal
discussions" with the BoD across LiveWire if they had access to it?
Many more people would have seen it. They bemoaned the small
attendance and yet didn't do anything to publicize them. No flyers at
DCU brances either.
Must drop by to hear all the good news.

Hey, Phil! I usually don't correct you, but check your tapes. They
didn't just "bemoan" the small attendance. They came close to
chastizing us for it! A show of hands was called by a member of the
audience to see how many Deccies had heard about the meeting through
notes. All but one hand went up. The one had heard about it through
some other way. The other thing they ribbed us about was the high
percentage of folks there that had been there for the previous meeting.
What does this all say? It says that they STRONGLY resented having
to invite DCU shareholders to confront them in a meeting! If they were
REALLY interested in having a big turnout they would have INVITED some
folks instead of snapping at the few that came! You can just bet they're
really going to love that "special meeting"! Though, I would imagine
they WILL be inviting "friends" if/when the meeting happens.
I would not be surprised if they call the meeting some time next year.
If they miss the NCUA-interpreted 30-day deadline, I WILL formally
complain to the NCUA and invite all DCU shareholders to do the same.
Bad enough that they've now formally decided to ban shareholders from
peeking at the auditors notes (which is also contrary to what the NCUA
apparently indicates should happen).
You gotta love the doublethink here. It's not a "loan" if it can be
called an "investment". It's not a "business reason" if it comes from
a DCU shareholder concerned about where his/her life savings should be
deposited. A meeting is "called within 30 days" if all you do is
schedule it. Hey, are these the same folks that keep coming up with
new "politically acceptable" terms for layoffs? (You know, "right
sizing", "transitioning", "downsizing" ...) Gee, I wonder what they'll
put on their resumes when they get booted out. Oh, I know. It'll be
the old standard, "left to pursue other opportunities". Either that,
or it'll be the standard, "he's got a terrible cold." Ooops, sorry,
that's the wrong country ...

RE: .7
Yes, you're right. I was trying to be kind to our beloved BoD.
Consider me slapped.
I got the feeling in the second meeting that they were feeling us out,
gauging our strength. Then when their little "thank you" appeared in
here stating how many people attended and how many had been at both
meetings, it confirmed my beliefs. Those little chit-chats were
nothing more than an attempt by the BoD to pacify DCU noters,
especially after talk of a special meeting floated and was encouraged.
I believe they were trying to head it off.
Wonder what they thought of the 1220 petitions we gave them? Mark
Steinkrauss asked how many facilities were represented. Wonder if they
think those 1220 people are "representative" of the DCU membership?
Probably not. If they only knew how EASY it was to get those signed
petitions. A little more publicity, a little more time, a few more
facilities, and we could have gotten a truckload. I was also nice
hearing all the encouraging words from DCU members.

Unfortunately I will not be able to make the 10/8 meeting in AKO.
Could somebody who can attend the meeting please print out the new
"Information Protection Policy", stand up and read it in its entirety
at the meeting and then post the new Prez's response?

When the date is announced, we should contact Live Wire, and get
our story "published" there. Many other publications, including

Already got the scope on what we need to do. Thanks for making sure we
