241.0. "Easytouch hangs up before completing balance " by NANOOK::FOX (David B. Fox -- NEW DTN 264-2187) Mon Apr 08 1991 16:24

    I've been suffering, somewhat silently, an Easytouch problem. I've
    called Customer Service and made a couple of suggestions but none were
    ever implemented.

    Here's my problem. Occasionally... when I call in to get my Share 1 or
    Share 5 balance, I'll get the following dialog:

    	<Normal login sequence, no problems>
    	<Request Share Balance>

    	"Share x, the current balance is one-hundred <click>"

    It's always the same account and it is probably the same DECtalk unit
    each time I call in! I can do whatever I need to do with the DECtalk
    unit except get the complete balance. I've gone to extremes of dialing
    Easytouch on one phone, redialing on my second line and then find I can
    get the balance on the second line without any difficulty.

    The suggestion that I made to the customer service folks was to have
    the DECtalks programmed to say something like:

    	"Welcome to DCU's Easytouch, Terminal DECtalk 1
    	 Please enter your badge number:"

    Having that little bit of information of knowing what terminal you are
    connected to can help track down problems with one of the DECtalk
    units. Right now, I have no way of knowing which unit has the problem.

    This is pretty frustrating! It still happens consistantly to this day!
    Easytouch is a WONDERFUL product! I use it all the time! I wish my
    other commercial banks had something similar. This is one thing that
    sets DCU apart from the rest!

    I hope this gets to the right people. Thanks for having this conference!
