167.2 | You should have received them in the mail. | ULTRA::KINDEL | Bill Kindel @ BXB1 | Mon Apr 10 1989 10:34 | 6 |
| DCU published the instructions for Easy Touch in an "Input/Output" a
couple of years ago and enclosed it with everyone's monthly statements.
New customers are supposed to receive these instructions in a mailing
to accompany the ATM/Easy Touch personal identification number.
Perhaps there have been spot shortages to keep this from happening.
Call DCU and ask you them to send you another one.

Getting another copy of the paper instructions doesn't solve
Dwight's complaint in .0 of wanting them on-line. I think having
the instructions available in VTX is a good idea; have you (Dwight)
suggested it to DCU directly? If so, what was their reply?

167.4 | How about real online! | GRAMPS::FORTIER | | Tue Apr 11 1989 08:46 | 11 |

I agree that there is a real need for getting the instructions
online.
But, what about getting them online? I would love to be able
to sit at my desk, pop a window, and use the ten key keypad to do
the same thing as I do over the phone. What would be the problem
with getting the Digital Employee FCU to give us a link into their
system for activities?

167.5 | So do it. | NAAD::REITER | I'm the NRA | Tue Apr 11 1989 11:02 | 8 |
| If this is such a good idea (and I'm not implying it isn't), then
why doesn't someone just post a note here with the instructions?
Then we'd all have it --- online!
If the answer to this question is in Note 58.*, forgive me. I'm
just suggesting a simple solution to an obviously complex and
deep-rooted problem, and I have no intention of debating its merits
or spending endless hours researching it. :7)

If you call DTN: 223-9943 or 1-800-322-1232 you get the EASYTOUCH
machine. It gives you step by step instructions on what to do. If
you don't know the codes it would give you the options/codes for
you to select from. I can't see it getting any simpler or easier.

It would be easy for anyone to enter the instructions in this
notesfile. Part of the instructions are listed in note 58.*, so
you might want to review that note as suggested in a previous reply.
DCU doesn't have access to this notesfile, and I don't foresee that
happening anytime in the near future. DCU gets copies of notes and
have the option to respond indirectly.

It might be simpler if someone volunteered to put it in as a reply
to note 58.* or if somehow it became part of VTX.
NOTE: There are quite a few notes in this file that discusses DCU
access (or lack of access) to the network. I urge everyone
to refer to other notes before starting new discussions on
the topic.

167.7 | Step-by-step defined and explained | MISFIT::FOLTSD | ZZZZ -- Dwight Folts -- ZZZZ | Tue Apr 25 1989 15:26 | 19 |
| Hi...I'm back from vacation ...sorry for the delay and for the apparent
fervor that I caused! I must reply to .6 to indicate that there is what
I consider a rather "backward" way of getting step by step instructions.
AND, that is to enter an incorrect response ... waiting for an indefinite
period of time for a response when you don't know what the transaction
codes are gives you a "Timeout...thanks."
For those of you who don't know what the codes are at each step I suggest
entering the # (treat it like a <CR>) to get EASYTOUCH to respond with
step-by-step instructions...
One final note ... I don't have a problem with DCU as a financial
organization. I have a savings account, loan and VISA and am very happy
with the service and services. The EASYTOUCH program could use some
improvement!!! And I consider this a minor problem in the overall scheme
of things.
