145.0. "Services for the "other" shifts?" by TSE::LEEBER (Nobody Asked, Just My Opinion!) Mon Dec 05 1988 09:54

I would like to suggest that the DCU provide an after-hours customer
service representative for DEC employees who work 2nd or 3rd shift. I
am on 1st shift (actually salaried), but have several DEC friends that
    work these "other" shifts.

Yes, they have ATM's and the Easy-Touch System, but for what ever the
reason, a real live person is preferred or required from time to time.

I wonder what it would cost to staff three DCU employee's to cover
    these shifts (DCUE#1 3p-12a, DCUE#2 5p-2a, DCUE#3 12a-8a)? These would
at least be able to answer questions and, (sorry...) in the greater
Maynard area, do things like issue new accounts, etc.

    Is this reasonable?

If you look at each shift, though, I think that most would be around
a DCU office when it is open for its normal hours. The second shift
starts around 3:00, right? That is before closing at 4:00. The
third shift is a bit tougher. They start at 11:00 and end at 7:00,
I think. That would require them to wait about 1.5 hours to get
at the DCU when it opens (it opens at 8:30, right?)

Does any other bank provide services as you are proposing?

Sure they do Joe! I know of a lot of banks that are open until
8 PM on Friday nights. What about Saturdays. I don't know of
any banks that are closed on Saturday mornings. How much $$$
does DCU save by not even worrying about opening on Saturday?
