Has anyone had any experiences with erros on ATM deposits? The way I understand it, you punch in what you claim is the deposit amount, and put the actual deposit in a collection slot. What happens if, for whatever reason, DCU decides that no deposit was tendered, or that the deposit was for a different amount? Do they notify you before your next statement? On whom is the burden of proof? etc?

I once made an error in depositing a check (I think that I forgot
to sign it). I just got the check back in the mail two or three
days later with an explanatory note.

The only problem experience I've had with using ATMs for Deposits
was my own fault; reversed two numbers on the deposit envelope and
keyed it in that way; DCU called me the next business day and sent
me an adjusted deposit notice. This was an error in my favor, the
check was for more than what I had indicated on the deposit. Maybe
the system does work; however, I don't know what would happen if
DCU claimed not to receive the deposit at all.
