| DCU discussed adding an inactivity charge a while ago - seems it costs
them lots of $$$ to keep all these $10 and $20 accounts on file,
including sending statements. The only problems I see are:
1) They require you to be a member for some minimal period before you
can take a loan - guess it means you have to pay for the privilege.
2) I think they should have warned members specifically (i.e., if your
total balances are less than X expect a service charge after month Y).
But, DCU has never earned even passing marks on communication before -
so I guess we shouldn't be too surprised. Of course, if they want to
SELL us something (a new loan), then somehow they have no trouble
getting the word out (sigh).
Mr. Moderator - how about changing the title of this note to
"DCU adds service charges" or some such
