118.1 | Not just the DCU ATM! | EMUL8::CLEARY | Bob Cleary, SWS @KYO, New Jersey | Mon Aug 22 1988 15:17 | 21 |
| Jeff,
The problem is not unique to DCU. I had a simlilar problem with
MidLantic National Bank here in New Jersey.
One evening when starting out for home, I was too low on gas to make it
home and back the next day. The next day was pay day and I would be
making a deposit. At 18:30, as far as the bank was concerned, it was
already the next day. I asked the ATM for a balance, it showed more
than $100, so I took $20. No where did the ATM state that the balance
was more than a week old. There was less than $20 in the account at
that time and as far as the bank was concerned, I took money out of the
draw. As a matter of fact, none of the documents made comment on how
current the data through the ATM would be. They did have some
disclaimers about such things so they would not be responsable. (I
don't have any of that stuff now to copy it in.) The bank was acctually
thinking about filing charges against me, until I told them I was going
to take the papers that came out of the ATM to one of the largest
papers in the state and see what their reader's thought.

| Thus far, I think the standard of performance is that provided by
BayBank. As far as I can tell, the balance which appears on an ATM
inquiry is the overnight balance as adjusted by the transaction(s) just
completed.
A new feature allows BayBank X-Press 24 customers to get a list of the
last five checks which cleared and the last five ATM transactions.
It's called "Account Update" and has a modest per-transaction charge,
unlike all other X-Press 24 transactions (which are still FREE).

118.3 | Has this problem been fixed? | NEWVAX::PAVLICEK | Zot, the Ethical Hacker | Wed Mar 01 1989 15:53 | 13 |
| Just looking at this old note, I was wondering if anyone still has
this problem.
A few times in the past couple of months I have gone downstairs
to the DCU office (DCO -- Landover MD) and made a deposit. When
I got back upstairs, I called Easytouch and found that the balance
included my deposit. Sometimes, I call around noon on Wednesday
to see if my paycheck has been deposited. I haven't hit a snag
yet.
Anyone have any recent problems with Easytouch inaccuracy?

| I guess maybe it depends where you are located. I have never had
any problems with the DCU Easy-touch. But then again, I've never
had any problems with DCU at all.
