110.0. "New Software Problems!" by VIA::CARIGNAN (Marc Carignan, DTN 381-0146) Thu Jul 07 1988 09:18
The new ATM and teller software that was recently installed seems
to be causing many problems in availability and speed. The DCU
tellers in ZKO have mentioned the slow speed in getting end-of-the-
day transaction reports.
Also, this is the third day in a row that the DCU ATM has been down
for non-maintenance reasons. That is, Tue at DDD (Amherst St.,
Nashua, NH), I started my transaction, and after about a 30 second
timeout, my card came back out, the 'Brittish girl' told me that
the connection was down, and the ATM lights turned on and the CLOSED
sign came up (Time: 8 pm). On Wed, someone was just leaving this same
ATM and said it had just gone down on her (Time: 5 pm) also.
Finally, this morning at ZKO (7:45 am), I entered my card, and asked
for a balance of share 10. After a 30 second timeout, again the
machine shut itself down. This time, it came back up in 30 seconds,
and I quickly started another transaction to withdraw money--for
breakfast... :-)
Talking to people from the DCU branch at ZKO, they are not pleased
with the performance either. What's going on? Is this field test
software that DCU is managing our money with? Whose
software--Digital's?
Frustrated regular ATM user...
