57.0. "mistakes in the statements" by WORDS::BADGER (Happy Trails) Tue Oct 06 1987 12:54

    Its time to play our favorite game WATCH THAT STATEMENT!
    The statments for two of our children contained incorrect
    interest. My son who has mega-bucks [as he calls it] in
    a chef accout got a whole 10 cents for the quarter.

    People in headquarters agree that something's not right.
    They don't know what went wrong. So in the meantime,
    everyone get out their calculators and make sure that
    DCU doesn't do you in.
    nothing can go wronnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggg

57.1A few possibilities...39507::PGRANSEWICZTue Oct 06 1987 13:1114
    Maybe since CHEF accounts no longer exist in the eyes of DCU (aren't
    they now called RSVP?) they don't feel they should pay interest
    on non-existant accounts...  ;^)

    Or maybe they raised the minimum balance to $100,000 without telling
    us...  :*)

    With DCU, the possibilities are endless.

    End of sarcasism.
57.2they shoot computers, don't they?WORDS::BADGERHappy TrailsTue Oct 06 1987 13:3614

    Late breaking word from headquarters is that the computer can not
    figure out CHEF accounts! My sons problem began in January. I
    never really looked at the interest before, only totals. But the
    10 cents interest this time grabbed my attention.
    They gave me a choice. I can continue the CHEF until materity,
    if so, then they will MANUALLY calculate interest each month, or
    I can cash in the CHEF certificates -no penalty- to RSVP accounts.
    At any rate, they have to back up to Jan and manually figure the
    correct interest due.

    Time to stuff the mattress!

57.3Fixed Rate CHEFs39477::BDIMBATEchos in the NightWed Oct 07 1987 09:345
Sounds like a forced liquidation attempt on fixed interest rate CHEF
accounts to me. I have two CHEF accounts going and both show the correct
interest for the quarter.

Let's see... if a computer can't do 11.5% * $ , can it really run the world?
