There are quite a few ways to send SMS messages to GSM phones. E.q. with some phones (like Nokia 2110i) one can use the phone itself directly to send short messages to other phones. There are also PC utilities and then you have to connect the phone to PC using either PCMCIA card or in some cases directly to PC COM port. In Finland I can send SMS messages to GSM phones also via X.400, like S=040xxxxxx; P=GSM; A=MAILNET; C=FI or S=050xxxxxx; P=RLGSM; A=ELISA; C=FI But for speed etc. I have need for something different, like being able to wire GSM phone directly to serial port of a VAX or Alpha. Operating system could OpenVMS (preferably) or "Unix". Has aynone available such a utility? Where could I get some specifications (for commands that can be sent to say Nokia 2110i via the port at the bottom of phone)? _veli
