| The newsletter that came with my CellularOne bill yesterday said that they
are required, by law, to send the calling number id information as of April 1,
1997.

| I sure wish CellOne would stop defaulting to block Caller ID transmission.
Several of the folks I call from my car have Caller ID boxes, and I like
to let them know who's calling. Two of them have fancy Caller ID boxes
which will automatically reject blocked calls, so it's sometimes more than
a courtesy to disable blocking. It's a pain to have to remember to dial
*82 before each number, though I've now added that to the speed dial
numbers for people I call frequently.

Interesting. Nynex defaults to "send caller ID" enabled, and you have
to specifically request it be turned off. There was no charge to do
this.
