A customer is unable to start the application manager after setting up the network on his UNIX v4.0B system. He gets the following error: Invalid folder specification, /usr/var/dt/appconfig/appmanager/root-lola.fi-0 He gets a similar error when trying to start the application manager from other accounts, in addition to the root account. The name of his system is lola.fi. I noticed that on my UNIX workstation, that the directory name s under the appmanager path just contain the alias for my system and not the fully qualified name (e.g. scarlt as opposed to scarlt.mro.dec.com). Does the fact that his system is trying to create a directory name with the fully qualified name (lola.fi) indicate a problem in his network setup? Thanks, Karen

1) Make sure that /etc/hosts contains the fully qualified node name as it's primary entry (ie, lola.fi is the system name, lola is an alias). 2) Doing an 'rm -rf' in /var/dt/appmanager will allow everything to be recreated cleanly, that may help as well. |
