Hi, I would like to know the complete step to set a default keyboard for the XServer within CDE. I see that the Xserver uses the XKB extension to set the default keyboard, based on the language and keyboard_type set at the console prompt. It appears to work. However, I have a problem with a French LK411 keyboard where some keys are not well mapped. Is there a documentation explaining how to modify the files supplied in the /usr/lib/X11/xkb directory to fix a mapping problem ? I tried to disable the XKB extension when starting the Xserver. In this case, how the default keyboard is set ? Does it use the keymap_default link in /var/X11/xdm ? Thanks in advance, Jean-Marc

If that isn't sufficient, the Xserver folks monitor the BULOVA::DECWINDOWS conference, you might try asking there. |
